How do we fix something that is broken? Tate Modern + Better Bankside,

Sept 26th - Oct 13th 2019

Yara + Davina sought wisdom and practical advice from the public as they asked “How do we fix something that is broken?”

Using the duo’s trademark playfulness and accessibility, this open ended question, installed on a window of the Libertine Pub in Bankside, invited people to reflect on what it means to be broken and how we can fix it. Read within the context of pre-Brexit Britain, the question alludes to the political, welcoming the practical and the philosophical.

The public were invited to submit answers through social media #howdowefix and directly in the pub, with answers changing daily.

While the artists had no way of knowing what the public would say, they imagined superglue would be in there somewhere and of course it was!
